She Thought the Animosity Toward Men Was Permanent Until the Ancestral Work

Hello Reader,

We're 12 days from the winter solstice, a still point.

The Roman calendar notes it's the end of the year even though there are many endings and beginnings between now and spring.

Wintering invites us going inwards into the depths of our beingness not just the shadow, as has been promoted by social media.

When we are still and can be with what is, the One Who Notices is more present in our midst.

In your still moments now or in the coming days and weeks, what keeps getting your attention even though it feels immovable or elusive?

In reflecting on our work together, one of my annual year-long group members discovered something she hadn't known was possible: a different relationship with the men in her lineage and with men overall. She found this through her Ancestral Altar work.

She's been in my annual circles for two years and has done years of somatic therapy before that.

"I don't think I even realized how much animosity I carried towards men. As a boy mom and a self-proclaimed feminist, being able to make space for the full humanity of my boys has been the most healing part of this work.

The work we did gave me the ability to find compassion and connection with my male ancestors that I couldn't access before. Something softened. The tightness, the grip that it had on me, is now definitely a lot looser."

"When I think about my ancestors, I always think of my female ancestors. I don't ever think about my male ancestors. So just setting up the Ancestry Altar, putting all the representations there, it kind of forced me to sit with them. My male ancestors, oh, you guys are there too. To really think about what their experience might have been as well."

"I carried around a lot of animosity towards men, and I don't think that's there as much. The hostility around it. Some of the tightness, the grip that it had on me, is definitely a lot looser.

When you make space for, and you let go of your hold on anger and resentment, it opens up room for a different experience. It frees up space to think about and do other things with your mind.

This is not mine to hold. And so now there's room for me to hold something else."

This is not mine to hold.

This liberation becomes possible when you work in the systemic field.

The animosity, the anger, the resentment, much of what we carry toward men, toward patriarchy, toward our male ancestors is inherited familially and systemically.

It's been passed down through lineages, cultures, communities, and systems.

Freedom that we didn't know was available becomes accessible.

This woman has done years of somatic therapy before stepping into my annual circles.

In 2025, the Soulful Visionary Collective focused on the systemic field through Alchemical Constellations, working with familial and systemic entanglements to access liberation. The Ancestry Altar is one of the tools that work with depth and breadth that I teach in my annual programs, which deepen and expand each year.

Hello Reader,Seeing some of the 2016 reviews has invited me to sit with what I know to be true now that I didn't know then. Depending on the shape and form of your journey and your awareness of the map of your life, you may have been met by highs and lows or had a specific texture or taste that overlaid the map. Now, you're able to notice with perspective...
